At each placement, Kerala Link volunteers live in a self-contained apartment above a family home. Access to the apartment is through a common courtyard. There is a local family living downstairs that you will find very friendly and accommodating. The building is set within a lovely garden of coconut, mango, banana, papaya and other trees.
Each apartment is basically furnished and comprises a main living area, kitchen, 2 bedrooms and a shower room with western toilet.
The apartment has electricity, ceiling fans and running water. (Please note power cuts are common.)
The accommodation is self-catering: there is a bottled-gas stove, fridge, cutlery, crockery and cooking implements. Local shops and stalls are a short walk away and sell a wide variety of provisions. |
